Static discharge from my case?
Not sure if this is the place to ask it, but anyway
My case isn't plugged in, nothing but the monitor is into the back, yet when I touch it I can feel static discharge shoot through my hand..
I even got a shock in my chin (wasn't even close to the pc) while touching the case.
The monitor is unplugged too, so I don't think it's caused by that.
I've tried touching anywhere on the case and I get it..
I can't seem to figure out what would be causing this? Even with the monitor unplugged.. putting my speaker plugin anywhere on the metal of the case makes the speakers buzz.
Is my PC haunted?
Yeah, but I'm using an anti-static wristband and standing on a cement floor...
No, the metal of the computer simply has enough mass that it will pull the static electricity from you. Even a cat will get zapped with static electricity if you hold your fingertip to its nose.
