Lat pulldown: can you do it in front of chest or behind you?
The machine at my new gym (on the instructions) says pull the bar down in front of chest, but I was taught once to pull it down behind back (which I like better).
Are the machines different (designed for only 1 way or other) or can I do it either way?
both, thats what i do. it works out different muscles each way you do it. i switch my wrists round too, when pulling it down so you do the triceps on one wrist position (knuckles facing towards you and pull the bar to your chest) and biceps on the other wrist position (knuckles facing away from you and pushing the bar down to your waist and back up again, real slow, you'll really feel it in your "wings"!).
