Can i splice a coaxial cable wire for my TV without losing signal quality?
The cable that the installers put in is too short for where I want to put my TV. Can I get a splicer like for a phone, or do I need to replace the wire at the source?
Theoretically, any additional splice adds attenuation to the signal, so you would lose signal quality. However, the quality lost is, in most cases, negligible. In other words, you would probably not notice it at all. However, for best results, you can go buy a longer coaxial cord. They are not super expensive. Or, you could call the cable company, maybe they would give you a longer cable if you ask. However, there is no "need" to speak of as far as replacing the wire.
