i need help setting up my wireless connection, I have a D-link airlink (DWL-G650) wireless card.?
I have a D-link airlink (DWL-G650) wireless card and i am connecting into my 2wire Bell Router/Modem.
Internet connection works if i have a Ethernet connection that works perfect.
I am trying to get my wireless connection working, but all i get is two flashing lights instead of a solid 'link' and a flashing 'Activity'.
I am looking for a list of instructions on how to set this up properly.
if anyone can help me, that would be great!
thx
Just two days ago I did my D-link 624 connections. I had a desktop(wired) running XP and a new laptop with Vista (wireless). Here's what I did...
If you are running XP it needs to be up to Service Pack 2.
I had to download & install the Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) Responder (KB922120) from Microsoft
After that, I spent an hour trying to set my D-Link to connect with no luck.
In the end, what ultimately gave me exactly what I wanted was to unplug the router & the modem. Turned my router upside down and hit the reset button to set it back to factory defaults. Then, plugged it back in & turned on the modem and went into the D-link router setup. 192.168.0.1
Set the router up from scratch, turned on the radio button, gave it a SSID and a password. Leaned back and it was all happening just as it should.
I think the reset back to factory defaults & setting it up again is the big key with the D-link routers. When I got back to the D-link page after the reset, I noticed it says "reset" right on the screen. I don't know if that works. But physically reseting it was the ultimate answer for me.
Another thing you might want to do is to go to Google and find Netmagic. The free version wasn't a lot of help getting set up but it is cool to see what is going on.
