My neck hurts from doing back squats, what should I use?
My technique is fairly solid, although there may be some trick I am missing: You see I am 153 lbs. and I squat 175lbs right now at 5 reps for 5 sets. My lower neck is achy now, and I think its from the bar becoming so heavy as I add more and more weight. Should I get a pad or what?
Position the bar further back, more on your traps. As you reach back for the bar, your traps will flex up and provide a natural pad on which to place the bar.
