Muay Thai/Workout question?
I train approximately 3 times a week at a Muay Thai gym which is about a 40 minute drive from where I live. I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to get weights that I can strap onto my arms and legs and use them to practice at home. As sad as it sounds, I can't stop thinking about Dragonball Z when I think about this.
If you don't understand what I mean - think of shin pads. But they're going to be heavy (not sure how heavy), so that when I kick bags or do reps, I'll be building more muscle since there will be more resistance. The same deal with punches.
Would this be useful for a Muay Thai fighter? Would it increase "explosiveness" and (with proper technique) punching and kicking power?

I don't want to make myself sound like a tool, but I have been somewhat blessed with good technique. The downside is I am not very fast with my hands, and I really want to be able to hit harder, but without "doing weights" or bodybuilding.
It would work... just like a sprinter uses the weights, baseball players heavier bats, and medicine balls. The only things you gotta watch out is that your technique doesnt change through this since the extra weights are probably going to mess up your form at first. Then try not to hurt yourself as that would not be good. Important thing is though dont forget to keep on using the bag since muscle and bone has to get used to the hitting.
