HELP! I am in need of a song?
Help me...could you please find me a classic/pop song. Something that has a little belt in it. I also need the instrumental music for it. Need it day after tommorow. AAAHHH. Btw, it's for an audition for the solo singing competition. I am one of the eleven chosen out of 30-something so my "rivals" must be really good. Please help.

That's really, really tough. When you're choosing a song, you want to choose one that showcases *your* unique qualities as a singer. A beautiful voice with the wrong song for that voice, will sound a little "off." I suggest you talk to a voice coach and have them help you choose a song. Without hearing your voice I don't think anyone can help you.
Here's a suggestion though: Think about which famous singers, if any, your voice sounds similar to. Do you have a soft, sultry sound like Norah Jones? Do you have a really broad range like Mariah Carey? Think about who you *really* sound like (not who you *want* to sound like), and pick a song by one of those artists to cover. Don't take on too much of a challenge either. Choose a song that shows off your voice but doesn't stretch you too far. A lot of people make the mistake doing auditions, of being too ambitious and making themselves sound worse. Try to strike a balance of a song that shows off the best features of your voice, without going too far.
Given the amount of time you have to practice, you may do best choosing a song you already know and have the music to... Sometimes something simple is best in these situations anyway.
