Do you think that our Indians method of education require Overhauled from grass root level?
We all want to change things around us and make our world a better place to live in.
I have always believed and maintained that the field that can make maximum impact in this regard is politics.
Apart from it, the other field that can be a harbinger to positive impact is certainly education.
Somewhere I feel our education system is faulty and hasn’t been able to extract students’ potential to the core.
If I have to say it in one sentence, then I will say our education system tries to bring out the best few from all the students, where as it should be about finding the best in each of them.
Our education is examination oriented, where as it should be application-oriented.
We are preparing models, which could be replicable in the entire country. It is ironic that students in the rural heartland pass the matriculation examinations without having ever seen a test tube or other apparatus.
That's a very brave and applaudable question to raise. To get a better perspective on the issue, take a step back and look at your country from a distance.
Corruption is rife, and solving that point alone will make a huge improvement on the entire national education system.
Don't get me wrong, India does have a good education system already, but it has the potential of being way better. A career in teaching is still considered to be an honourable profession, a rare thing in this modern world.
One essential area of a well rounded education that has received little attention is in the field of sport. Indian children love sport, but have very little opportunity to develop their education/skills in this area. Let's not mention India's accomplishments (or distinct lack thereof) at the Olympics!
I admire your bravery to bring this subject up for open debate, I hope you have the courage to take it to the next level, i.e. the Ministry of Education.
