How can a guy dress up shorts?
I bought three shorts today.
1. Pleated. Navy.
2. Pleated. Tan.
3. Cargo. Light Gray.
They reach just an inch below the knee when worn below the waist, right on the knee when above it. So what can I wear to look stylish in them without looking to dressy?
Get a crisp white polo (not from Aeropostale...Lacoste and Ralph Lauren have the good stuff), you can even pop the collar (if you want). But the short sleeves will keep it casual, unlike with a collared button-down shirt. For shoes, boat style type shoes or tennis shoes are best because they're classic but not exactly dress shoes. A leather shoe would go nicely with all these shorts - again, a good investment.
You can also just wear regular flip flops if you don't want to go so dressy - they will work well too. Just stay away from bulky sneakers.
Oh, and you can add a leather belt if you want, too. Just tuck your polo in a little bit at the front so you can see the buckle.
