im a kinda chubby 13 1/2 year old and im starting to run with ankle weights and lift 10 lb weights i need hlp!?
like i said im chubby and i am startin out by liftin 10 lb weights(first time)and wearin ankle weights while runnin and walkin up mi stairs and around the house i aint tryin to get a six pack and all that im jus tryin to get arm muscles and everything like that i need to know if i start out with 10 pound weights and work my way up if i can build muscles.And also im tryin to build my speed since im goin to highschool next year i plan on playin sports and tryin to get speed and streghth so can yall plz help me on how to do these to things!!!

Instead of choosing a weight that's a round number (ie. 10 lbs) choose one that you can barely do 3 sets of 8 with. Use that weight until you can easily do 3 sets of 10, then increase by 5 lbs. To build speed running, you need to do sprints. Don't worry so much about the ankle weights while running that may screw up your knees or ankles, instead start jogging and do sprints intermittently during the jogs. This will help build speed and stamina. As for the 6-pack, I've had really good results with pushups everyday. 3 sets of however many you can do. Dig deep and really push yourself, if you don't you wont see any results. Get yourself a copy of Men's Health magazine. There are always good calisthenic exercises in there that you don't need a gym to do. Good Luck.
