The total distance of the seesaw is 12 feet, and there are 2 boxes (A and B) on either side. The seesaw is balanced. Box A weighs 60 lbs and Box B weighs 80 lbs. How far from the pivot point is box A if box B is 4 feet from the pivot point?

This is more a physics question - comes under Levers

The equation is fairly simple
Wt of A. Length of arm A = Wt of B * length of arm B
Where arm length is calculated from the pivot point
So
60* length of arm A = 80*4
Length of arm A = 320/60 = 5..33 = 5ft 4inches

BoxA is 5ft and 4 inches from the pivot point
