How long will it take for bicep muscles to grow?
I was wondering how long it will take me to grow my biceps. Ive been working out with an adjustable dumbbell for about half a week. I saw results, but i wanna know how long it should take for my biceps to grow and be bigger. Im doing all kinds of work outs and ive been going for about 2-3 hours total a day. By the way, the dumbbells are adjustable but i am almost always at around 20-25 lbs.
i am 5'8 162 lbs.
There are many factors with which your progress can either be improved or hindered.
First of all, you want to work out 3-5 times a week. This allows for muscle healing periods, which allow muscle growth and generation.
Secondly, technique is far more important than weight. If you are doing the excercises improperly you are more apt to hurt yourself. Not to mention, without proper form, you arnt isolating the right muscles and no growth occurs.
Next, eat eat eat! Your body is like a lego structure and food are your legos. If you dont have the right pieces, or enough of the right pieces, no progress can be made. Carbs, Protein, Fat... you need all of it. But this isn't to say that you should go out and eat mcdonalds for three months expecting to get bigger. Quality of caloric intake is a big deal. A chocolate cake is far more detrimental than a chicken with the same calories because of the nutrional supplementation provided by that cake (sugars and fat). Try to eat balanced meals.
Finally, if you stay are 20-25 lbs you will never get any bulk. Just remember; low weight for high reps translates to muscle toning, meanwhile high weight for low reps translates to additional muscle mass.
