Ankle and Wrist Weights?
I have 1 pair of ankle weights weighing at 5lbs. each and 1 pair of wrist weights weighing at 2.5lbs. each. Right now I am only walking with the extra 15lbs. for at least 2 miles daily or sometimes every other day. I lift my arms up with the weights too as if I am curling. I am also planning to only wear the pair of ankle weights to walk around during school. My goals are to improve in tennis for HS team tennis and help me have more stamina for running. (15 years old by the way and the weights' brand is Nike)
Are there any problems I should worry about?
What are some other exercises I could use these weights for?
Wearing them will cause you to burn a few extra calories, that's about it. it is much more effective to wear them for training only.
If you want to really improve in tennis, or any sport, wear them when you practice the game. The weights will create a greater mass that your body much constantly accelerate and decelerate over and over at high speeds. Your muscles will need to develop both by increasing their size to move the larger weight, and by developing fast-twitch fibers that are well suited to the sport.
Over time when you remove the weights and play a regular match, you may notice that the racket feels lighter and you are able to return/serve a ball at higher speeds.
