I actually think the Trek 1.2 listed below would be a better bike with the price tag at $879. One reason are the wheels. IMO the Bontrager are better rims than the Alex and I have both and the Bontrager are a better ride. As far as the Sora Groupo, It's not a bad group. I have and run it on one of my trikes and have since 1998 and I have never had a problem with it, its been great. So if your going to upgrade or go for something better don't bother with the Tiagra go to at least the 105s the gains between the Sora and Tiagra are minimal at best and that upgrade would be a waste of money. Also with the Trek you'll be getting a FSA ( Full Speed Ahead) crank not Sora and a Sram cassette which is better than the Sora , those I would consider to an upgrade on its own.
