how to bid a commercial cleaning contract?
Hi, I am going to bid a commercial space. I will be cleaning a 12,000 sq. foot space, which is built out for a private elementary school. It has 4 bathroom and 6,000 feet is the gym and the rest is classrooms and offices. I would be vacuuming, dust/wiping, cleaning bathrooms etc. 3 days a week, and I will supply the products. How should I bid it, per sq. foot or by the hour. I have been looking for a free on line resource to calculate bids, but so far no luck. If the area of the county counts, it is in Virginia. Any insight?

once you have that determined, realize that this is probably an independent contractor status and you will be responsible for your own self employment tax which is approximately 15% of your net
and by your net, that is the total amount you get paid less expenses
since materials will be furnished you cannot deduct those
are you going to have to supply liability insurance, or anything else the school requires, those would be expenses
when you get a net figure in your mind divide by the hours you think it will take, is that result enough for you to realize some profit?
